Hi, I’m Dr. Lashonda…

...a licensed psychologist with a doctoral degree in clinical psychology able to practice in New Jersey and New York. I have over 10 years of experience in providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups. I specialize in helping people cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and relationship issues. I use evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, where we work together to identify your goals, strengths, and challenges. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and respectful environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, and learn new skills to enhance your well-being. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you achieve your personal growth.

Psychotherapy is not only a treatment for mental disorders, but also a powerful tool for enhancing personal satisfaction, meaning, and fulfillment in life. Contrary to the common misconception that psychotherapy is only for the weak, sick, or troubled, psychotherapy can benefit anyone who wants to improve their mental and emotional well-being. Psychotherapy can help people discover their strengths, values, and passions, and pursue their goals and dreams. Psychotherapy can also help people cope with stress, adversity, and trauma, and develop resilience and optimism. Psychotherapy can even change the brain and body, by stimulating neuroplasticity, reducing inflammation, and boosting immunity. Psychotherapy is not a luxury, but a necessity for anyone who wants to live a healthy and meaningful life.

My Approach

To grow, challenge yourself. Self improvement is hard, but rewarding. Risks are stepping stones to success
— Dr. LaShonda T. Green, MBA
My approach to therapy is based on the premise that you are the expert of your own life, and that you have the potential to overcome any challenges that you may face. I see myself as a facilitator, a guide, and a partner in your journey of personal growth. I do not impose any agenda or judgment on you, but rather, I listen to you with empathy, respect, and curiosity. I help you clarify your goals, identify your strengths, and explore your options. I also challenge you to examine your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and to discover new perspectives and possibilities.

Dream it

My dream is to help you achieve your desired outcomes, whether it is to reduce your distress, improve your functioning, enhance your relationships, or increase your well-being.

Build it

I aim to help you build the skills and resources that you need to cope with future challenges and to maintain your gains. It’s about healing, learning, growing, and thriving.
